This is my favorite place on earth. In 102 desoto. I love the porch and closeness to the beach. It's not the cleanest place I've stayed, attention from staff leaves a lot to be desired these things considered the price 300.00 in August is steep BUT I just love it and will be back when I save some more money.

I wish that we could give 1/2 stars on Yelp, because I would give this place 2.5. I went for the 2, but didn't feel comfortable doing so. The location of this resort is perfect because it's set away from the downtown area where everyone spends their time. It's within walking distance of Kokonut Hut, which is right on the water (about a 10-12 minute walk). Bungalow Beach is cute because it has a homey feel, but it is EXTREMELY tight in the rooms. In our room, the bathroom did not have a ceiling on it, which (as you can imagine) made for some good laughs. The room was equipped with a microwave, plates, cups, silverware, a small knife for cutting limes, a bottle opener, a sink, and dishsoap. The TV sits on the same level as the bed, so it's tough to lay in bed and enjoy it. Housekeeping does NOT enter the room. If you need something, you mark it off on a sheet and place it in a basket. You put this basket outside of your door and housekeeping puts the replacement items in the basket for you. If you do this before 2 PM, you're set. WELL, we stayed there Tues-Fri and housekeeping didn't come one day, which is extremely inconvenient when the desk is not attended 24/7 and you're stuck using dirty towels. Beach towels are provided at the front desk. Our shower curtain had tons of dirt all over it, and clearly was not touched in between customers. The glasses had sand in them. The comforter had stains on it. There was obvious visible dust on the TV equipment. They really need to do a better job with the upkeep and preparation of their rooms, especially if they are charging $250/night in April. I was not overly impressed with the service here. When we arrived, the front desk woman gave us some helpful recommendations on where to visit/eat. But when I told her about my dirty shower curtain, there was no apology whatsoever, and it seemed that I was bothering her. The beach is pretty private considering all of the resorts nearby. You'll see everyone line up on the beach around sunset because the sunsets here are absolutely incredible. The resort has about 4-5 double lounge chairs with a table in the middle of each one. There is a small fire pit/grilling area with chairs as well.

Very honest review: we had a great time. And love how low key and old and the lay out of this place. It's on a gorgeous beach. But it's not worth the money. We were in 101 coquina. It needs updating. There's basically no staff except for one cranky house cleaner. They don't replace toilet paper or paper towels and there are stains on the sheets. We will come back to this area but are looking into renting a beach house. Get new management! This place could be a gem!!!!

This was our honeymoon vacation. Yes, the resort is small. It takes some getting used to the closeness. While staying here you get the feel of old Florida. The staff makes you feel at home during your stay. They give great recommendations on places to eat! The courtyard/firepit and grill area was perfect! We grilled out one night and ate on the beach! And the beds were very comfy!!! We loved it so much we stayed an extra night! We plan to come back for anniversary trips! Cons: small showers and a small pool. If you can get over those this is a perfect getaway!!!!

A pleasant surprise. I had too book last minute and arrived late. There was welcome packet in the office door waiting for me. My room was really clean, nice and I wished I had more time to stay another night. Bed was very comfortable!!! I need to go back since I was there late and had to leave early the next AM. I wished I had more time to see rest of the place.

We were looking for a small, boutique atmosphere for a weekend get away and we found a jewel. The room (we stayed in 103) was charming and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating with our late arrival schedule. All of the units are just steps from the beach . The only cons we have are 1. The pillows are pretty uncomfortable and 2. There is no in-room wifi. Despite those two things, we will be back and we will recommend to friends.

We love Bungalow Beach Resort! Good atmosphere, friendly staff, and it's only feet from the beach. All round great experience.

This place is charming and wonderful! I had a mess up with another reservation down the street (place was misrepresented online and was really crappy/smelly) and so I drove to the Bungalow Beach and LUCKED out that they had an open bungalow. Ally, the reservation manager, was so helpful and kind. I got unpacked in time to walk a few steps to the sand and watch the sun set over the Gulf. I highly highly recommend Bungalow Beach!

Cute little bungalows nestled on the beach. As others have noted, it has comfortable "shabby chic" decor, and has great atmosphere. Two of my friends and I rented the 2-bedroom/2 bath unit with a sofa bed for a girls weekend at the beach, and we loved it. Our unit had a turnkey kitchenette area, and the bathrooms were a very nice size and well appointed. Great central location on the island. We all agreed that we'll definitely go back again -- next time, for a longer period of time.

Great little place right on the beach with a classic Florida kind of feel. We rented a sweet little room that was all white with wicker which was perfect for our wedding night. It made for a great backdrop in our photos of getting ready before the wedding, too. The pool looked much bigger in the photos than what it actually was, but with the beach right there, who needs it?

I think we paid a high price for our room which faced the beach and ocean. #101 It certainly has a good location but the room is not comfortable to move around in. I know its old and closet space was limited but even in the bathroom there isn't anywhere to place things when getting ready or dressed. no where to hand a wet towel. the bungalow did smell musty and old. attention to detail is not a priority here. housekeeping really doesn't do anything and I'm not sure what they do in between guests. dirt and dust are everywhere and I feel like a deep cleaning might be in order. the sheets were stained and we had to put them on ourselves on the pullout sofa. pillows looked dirty so I covered them. bed was somewhat comfortable but I felt like it wasn't the cleanest so my nights sleep was interrupted. air conditioning units. wall units were old and noisy and didn't work so well. we were lucky it was overcast and cold I guess. refrigerator and stove were clean. $400 a night was a bit much. girls at front checkin counter didn't appear professional and were just sort of hanging out. I really liked anna maria but would stay somewhere else next time. pictures online appear better than in real life.

Florida beach cottage chic. I love this place. Very old Florida. This place has simple and non intrusive service. They didn't come in our cottage for the two nights were were there. We were provided with a basket for towels which were were to leave outside with our discarded towels and we found new ones outside waiting for us when we returned from the room. Ours was small with a kitchenette maybe 300 square feet but just perfect for my husband and I.. We stayed in the poolside cottage # 109 Sunset. They have a private beach area as well with wood chase lounges and beach umbrellas and floats and stuff you can use in the gulf. There is also an adorable office dog who looks like cookies and cream and his name is Wilby. There are larger units available and a few of them overlook the gulf. We will return to the Bungalow Beach Resort in the future!

Shabby chic cottage charm. one of the best destinations in SWFL. If you are looking for RitzCarlton service, keep driving. If you are looking for cookie cutter Hilton/Sheraton/Hyatt style accomodations don't stop. If you are looking for the most relaxing vacation experience you've ever had, make reservations.

The location of the beach bungalows was nice but the price we paid for our room was not worth it. Mold on the shower liner and a hole on the iron board. For the price you should not see mold and have holes on the iron board. The closet was small and only 4 hangers were provided. No housekeeping at all not even to empty the garbage. Lounge chairs facing the ocean were ever attended to and looked messy.
